The operation already provided hot-foiling on offset media and labels, but was looking for a system that enabled this addedvalue finish to be achieved digitally and therefore more cost effectively and competitively. It had kept a keen eye on market developments because it was aware of the huge opportunities a digital solution could create. After a highly successful demonstration of the Meteor Unlimited Colors Se+ solution at Konica Minolta’s Paris showroom De Rudder very quickly made the decision to buy. The installation was then fully supported by the Konica Minolta team.

The Meteor Unlimited Colors Se+ solution combines inline printing with hot foiling by integrating the multi-award winning iFOIL technology. As a result, operations can offer high added-value print services, for small and medium print runs, in a virtually unlimited number of metallic colours. This effect is achieved by blending the CMYK toner and taking advantage of the reflective qualities of foil.
This new equipment uses rolls of film with a wide choice of colours including metallic, iridescent and holographic. The hot-foiling process is 100% digital eliminating the need for costly and time-consuming negatives.
At De Rudder the Meteor Unlimited Colors Se+ machine replaces an older digital press. The applications are infinite: invitations, greeting cards, packaging, event media, proofing, small run. And the benefits numerous: no screen printing, no film, very little preparation work, very short setup times.
